Heading East: Benson, AZ first stop

Not only are we leaving our new lot in North Ranch, we have left Destiny RV Resort where we have wintered the last two years, and made many friends, who shall be missed. We will meet up with some of them we are sure, including Bob and Jo, of How to Love Where You Are and Eat where the Locals Eat! blog . We have learned much from these fulltimers these past two years, and know we will continue this friendship! We will continue to follow their blog for eating tips, and to enhance our blogging skills! We are "newbies" at blogging, and have learned much from fellow bloggers. Cheers and save travels to all of you! Debby and Jeff: we'll continue to follow your blog as you "prepare" for fulltiming! Tomorrow we'll be heading east, to Charlottesville, VA, to attend a high school graduation June 2, then up to Maine, then heading west by north west by August! We'll be posting more detailed information on our "current" travels (if I can remember Bob'

Good Sam Rally at PIR

We drove down to Destiny one last time to attend the Good Sam Rally at PIR (Phoenix International Raceway). We had Passport tickets....rig parked off site and driving each day, but with complete access to all events. We lasted two days, but man, did we get a lot for those two days! Items needed from Exhibits (plus a few not on our list!), and attending two sessions:  one on Air Brakes (very good!) and one on ChiWalking--terrific!  The fellow doing the air brake session was from RVSafety.com.  Excellent information that we will continue to explore. ChiWalking, with Lisa Pozzoni, the only certified instruction in the state of Arizona was also very good, and timely! Lindy has been struggling with walking--aches and pains and groans....(due to old age!!!) and so far, the benefits in just 7 days have been remarkable! Lindy is committed to RVing for at least 15 more years...and with this new information regarding this style of walking and fitness, achieving her goal IS a reality! We pu

Snow at North Ranch!

Image
7:30 AM--and the clouds have closed in, decreasing visibility of the surrounding mountains earlier capped with snow, to snow showers outside our windows! It snowed Saturday night, we awoke to snow capping the mountains surrounding us, and yesterday was very chilly--sweatshirt and long pants day! Today snow showers are forecast for the day, and it currently happening! Is the snow sticking? Not really. There are patches of snow on the roof of the shed on the lot to our east. But, this storm California shot our way is indeed a good one! Flagstaff really got hammered! Do we still love North Ranch? Certainly! Snow won't be around long at all, and in a couple of days, temps will be back up to the mid to high 70's. We are planning to depart sometime today for Goodyear, as the Good Sam Rally is later this week, and we have errands and appointments before we depart this area....! We are flexible...can depart today or tomorrow, so we shall see! Snow has stopped, b

Here we are, on our own lot in North Ranch! We love the extra space, the fenced in yard, but the cactus not so much! We have an agave cactus in the south west corner which we immediately trimmed to make it safer for the dogs. The dogs still stand by the gate to "go for their walk".....! It is nice to be able to let them out the door without worrying about leashes. However, as we travel, we'll need to revert to that routine...!  Oh well! Here are some pictures: Looking south towards street Looking N at lot from street Looking SE towards street Agave Trimmed!  Looking NE from street Later! Paws and Friends

Weight Issue Re-visited....

We are happy to report that Freightliner found nothing "wrong" with the coach/suspension system. Wednesday we drove up to North Ranch, and had scheduled the re-weight of the 4 wheel positions on our coach. The results were much better than the initial! Wednesday March 7, 2012 Left front:  4300                   Right front:  5700  (Right front included the Corgis!) Left rear:  10,300                 Right rear:  9550 Initial results of 2/6/12: Left front:  4660                   Right front:  5680 Left rear:  10,800                 Right rear:  6400 Perhaps it is all due to "exercising" the air bags....as we drove up from Goodyear Wednesday, approximately 60 miles, allowing the air bags to really "work". The first time, we had driven from our site in the campground over to the weigh station, so the air bags were "cold"--at 100 pounds, but not warmed up. We don't understand it all, but feel much better knowing that we are more &quo
