Rupert is 12!

Image
August is a special month: With the cooler temps in the mountains, one KNOWS fall is just around the corner.  The "crazy, lazy days of summer" illustrate the winding down of "summer" Rupert's birthday is in August...! So OF COURSE we celebrate! Ummmm, who celebrates...? Mr. Rupert, aka Lord Rupert? Miss Maddie...?  ..... But Mike wasn't cutting it fast enough for them...was she? That huge bone lasted two mornings! What happens is that whenever Mike prepares her cup of coffee, and once she stirs it, that is the signal for the dogs' "coffee". You guessed it, they get their "coffee", which are Blue Bites. However, for Rupert's special day (and the next day!) they each had half of the bone! Who has who trained in this household?!   We KNOW!! Roving Riders, Enjoying the coolness of the Black Hills in South Dakota for a few more days!

Rafter J Bar Ranch Campground It has been a while since our last posting. Let's see if we can remedy that! We are currently enjoying the coolness of the Black Hills just south of Hill City in South Dakota. We have "explored" Colorado, ventured into Wyoming, then on into Montana where we spent July at Yellowstone's Edge, south of Livingston. The first of August found the Riders moving on to the Walberg Homestead in Mitchell, then on to our current spot. We talked of the SNOW in Dolores in the previous post. We were able to travel on down the road (one of our "longest" travel days....NOT) to Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado  (31 miles 😊). Out our window to the northeast, Mesa Verde RV Resort There we enjoyed the snow-capped mountains surrounding us. Even Sleeping Ute to the west wore a cap of snow! Our view out the window was of these mountains from the end of May into June. What a GREAT yard/patio to have! Sunrise at Mesa Verde RV Re

The park is on the Dolores River, on the state highway where one can go up to Telluride. We were at 7012 feet. We did experience nice weather earlier in May..... River was kind of tame....! Our site....notice few leaves on trees for first of May.... River view from the cabins---turning brown with run-off... One can spend the night in one of these! Check their website for pics inside! Nice! Yurts, too! Backing in was interesting....had to be just right...! And Bigfoot was there! Walking along the Riverfront Trail Driving up Highway 145 Here is spring! Buds in the snow.... Yesterday was a travel day for us. With an eye on the weather forecast, we had stowed all the items we could the day before, so that all we had to do was disconnect the power cord an

We LOVED Yellowstone's Edge! We are heading back to it this summer! Coach Detailing October 2018 We reached North Ranch last October via Fort McDowell, where we had arranged for Andrew, of A.N.S. Detailing (found on  Outside our Bubble) to wash and wax our coach. WOW! What a GRAND job! Thanks, Brenda and David! Riding up the  Hassayampa  December 2018 This past season in Arizona was wetter and cooler than usual. We did get several rides in, in spite of the "chill" and wet! The moisture certainly makes the desert GREEN in the spring! Chilly ride up Round Mountain February 2019 Rupert and Maddie - at top of Round Mountain Snow at North Ranch - February 2019 April 2019 Mighty Saguaros! Arch - April 2019 Crested Saguaro = April 2019 Both Lindy and Mike are "off" the board/committee each served, thus providing more time to "do and be"! And that is JUST what we are doing! We are enjoying EACH day, reli
