Roving Riders Hunting for Spring!

Here we are at Dolores Riverfront RV Campground, May 21, 2019....with two inches of snow!

Maddie LOVED it! Rupert showed his excitement, too!

Mike's Snowman!
The park is on the Dolores River, on the state highway where one can go up to Telluride. We were at 7012 feet.

We did experience nice weather earlier in May.....

River was kind of tame....!

Our site....notice few leaves on trees for first of May....

River view from the cabins---turning brown with run-off...

One can spend the night in one of these! Check their website for pics inside! Nice!

Yurts, too!

Backing in was interesting....had to be just right...!

And Bigfoot was there!

Walking along the Riverfront Trail

Driving up Highway 145

Here is spring!
Buds in the snow....

Yesterday was a travel day for us. With an eye on the weather forecast, we had stowed all the items we could the day before, so that all we had to do was disconnect the power cord and pull out. We awoke to more snow, so Mike brushed the snow off the pickup, and climbed once again on the top of the motor home to clear the snow and slush (and ice!) off the slide toppers. Fortunately, we did not have far to go, so waited until after 10, when the sun broke through for a bit! We pulled away around 10:20, and traveled on mostly dry roads up and down to Mesa Verde RV Resort, west of Mancos, CO. We were set up around noon (after traveling 28 miles 😇). Then it rained here!

Today we are sitting in our cozy home on wheels, with the fireplace going, being very glad we arrived yesterday and are set up today, so we can enjoy the blowing rain/snow mix blizzard we just had!

Yes, we are in the hunt for Spring! We do believe it might come (again) this weekend.....

Roving Riders enjoying our "Hunt for Spring"! Later!
