AZ Cactus Corgi Carnival

Image
Before we adopted Corgis, we saw very few of them. Friends of ours in Gallup had one. Their son and his wife had two. So went our first meeting of Corgis and we liked what we found. We started full-timing with two big dogs. We did talk of "downsizing"--when that time came..... Our dear friends gave us a Corgi Calendar, to use as a "Sears Catalog" in helping us make that decision....! Well, you already know the ending to this story! But, how many Corgis have you seen at one time? Read on! The Arizona Cactus Corgi Rescue sponsored a Corgi Carnival November 10, as a fund raiser for the The Ring Master, Vicki C, director of AZCCR chatting at the Carnival rescue. The Paws and Friends of Roving Riders had a blast, as well as all the attendees! There were all sorts of games for the participants:  Cake Walk: prize each for dogs AND their people, Bobbing for Hot Dogs, Get a Duck (each had a dollop of peanut butter on their heads), Get the Toy, Corgi Kisses, Special

Ride Out in the "Outback" of North Ranch

Image
As of this writing, we are in the second full day of Northwest weather in the Southwest! It has rained nonstop! It is cold, wet and dreary. So with the heat going, chex party mix cooking, we crafted this description of an outing we took in sunnier times the first of November. We definitely won't be out and about in the Blue Buggy until the Outback dries out! November 3 we piled the dogs and ourselves into the Blue Buggy for a ride out through the gate east Looking east south-east from our "hilltop" into BLM land behind our development. The weather was gorgeous! Sunny, light breeze--a perfect day to explore and enjoy this country! Lindy packed her new camera, boasting lots of bells and whistles as this was going to be a learning opportunity for her in using some of these bells and whistles--she hoped! There's one that stands out in this posting...that of the "multiple shutter"....where when the shutter is pressed, it will take 5 shots.... More on this

Roving Riders are Roosting!

Image
We are here at the Roving Riders Roost at North Ranch, Arizona! Weather has been GLORIOUS! We have been enjoying the weather, in between doctor's and dentist's appointments... That list is much smaller now, just two more the next couple of days.  In between all the dashing here and there, we have been able to enjoy our little piece of land here north of Wickenburg, AZ. Our "current" Arizona Room! We have learned NOT to put open bins on the washer in the shed.... Lindy was going through the plastic bin containing our travel info:  maps and other brochures from our travels since we started full timing. Mike was washing dog towels.... We drove into Wickenburg for groceries. When we returned we discovered that the bin had bounced off the washer into the tub. The washer drains into the tub....! Sigh....!!!!  Several items had to be trashed, but we managed to hang up several on the clothes rack and anyplace available in the shed to dry out! Today Lindy put away the
