Ride Out in the "Outback" of North Ranch

As of this writing, we are in the second full day of Northwest weather in the Southwest! It has rained nonstop! It is cold, wet and dreary. So with the heat going, chex party mix cooking, we crafted this description of an outing we took in sunnier times the first of November. We definitely won't be out and about in the Blue Buggy until the Outback dries out!

November 3 we piled the dogs and ourselves into the Blue Buggy for a ride out through the gate east
Looking east south-east from our "hilltop"
into BLM land behind our development. The weather was gorgeous! Sunny, light breeze--a perfect day to explore and enjoy this country! Lindy packed her new camera, boasting lots of bells and whistles as this was going to be a learning opportunity for her in using some of these bells and whistles--she hoped! There's one that stands out in this posting...that of the "multiple shutter"....where when the shutter is pressed, it will take 5 shots.... More on this later....

The Blue Buggy performed wonderfully! We did

find that the summer monsoons had done quite a number on the roads in "Our Outback", but the Buggy did well in getting us around and up to our favorite hilltop.

We parked, unloaded the dogs, and Lindy unloaded her camera for our trek down the hill, to the wash, and then back up. The dogs love this for they are off leash and can explore, up to a point, on their own. We watch out for creatures which may not be safe, such as snakes (and of course now Gila Monsters!).

It took us about 45 minutes to go down to the wash and back up. During that time Lindy had snapped a total of over 300 pictures, many due to that new feature she was "playing with"! Such fun! You'll see both dogs kicking up dust as they run, often with all 4 legs off the ground! Such foolishness but oh, such fun! You, the reader, may know all about these fast shutter speeds! But Lindy has been using a "vintage" digital camera for quite a few years with very slow shutter speeds, so this is all very new to her! Enjoy the foolishness with us! Remember, too, that Bitty is 12 years old, going on 6...! She has such great fun being out in her Outback, enjoying galloping about!
Galloping down the hill! See the dust flying?

Bitty--the 12 year old going on 6!
Rupert--checking up on all in "his charge"
Coming to the hill on our return....Now Bitty feels more like 12. Will you carry me up the hill?

Sure, Bitty! ...Thanks SO much!
I am SO happy! I have it SO GOOD!

There's our ride!
Ahhh! Water!

Okay! I'm ready!

Next posting, the Arizona Cactus Corgi Rescue Carnival! Later!
