Traveling to Lincoln City Premier RV Resort and Comments on the Resort

On the way from L.L. Stub Stewart State Park Of COURSE is Tillamook Cheese Factory:  We ate lunch, shopped, then had Tillamook ice cream for dessert! We finally found a wedge of Tillamook hard cheddar cheese--the kind of hard cheese that crumbles when you try to slice it--it is delicious! We had burgers for lunch, with cheese and bacon and delicious french fries! Oh, and we discovered a new product, Tillabars:  ice cream bars like only Tillamook can make them! We bought a couple of boxes, and found the product in the local Safeway store in Lincoln City! Stopping at the Factory is always a treat, for there is parking for big rigs, and always something to see and do. If it is your first time, you may want to take the tour, then take your time shopping and tasting!

We like Premier RV Resorts, a family of five RV Resorts located in:

  • Salem, OR
  • Eugene OR
  • Redding CA
  • Lincoln City OR
  • Granite Lake, Clarkston, WA

Our very favorite park of these five is the one in Lincoln City. Eugene is convenient to repair locations, and Granite Lake in Clarkston is on the Snake, and if you can get a pull in site (for motor homes) right on the River, it can be very nice! But back to Lincoln City. It is an older park but very nicely landscaped and maintained. The sites are tight, with three levels to the park. Our favorite site is #64, a back in parallel to US 101 and to the ocean. We have a good view of the ocean from our coach as well as from the patio. Don't you just love the fact that
as you change parks, you also change your patio?! What a life! And to have a view of the Pacific Ocean--tides going out, storms coming in, wind kicking up the surf....! We are loving it!

Bob and Jo, and others with 5th wheels, you might consider sites 66 or 67. They are back in sites with the rear window facing the ocean. Now granted, you have the lower lever of the park, the highway, and buildings across the street--but you can see the ocean beyond all that! We suggest reserving your ideal site way ahead especially if your stay is during the summer months. The laundry facilities are open 24/7 (access with a code), and are very nice.

There is beach access within walking distance, taking approximately five minutes. Now the park is up on a hill, so one must walk 76 steps down to the beach, but if Lindy can do it, anyone can! We have been walking to the beach each morning since our arrival--to play ball with Rupert, and hunt for "treasures"--shells not broken, agates, and other "stuff" which touches our fancy (more on this in another blog).

What we like about Premier RV Resorts is that they are a Good Sam park, with a discount on the daily rate. However, they have weekly rates, and monthly rates. And, a "Family Club" membership that entitles you to a free night for every seven nights purchased. Plus, you receive special offers and discounts by email.  Premier Lincoln City has two dog runs, one on each level. The one near us, on the upper level is grass. The lower one is gravel. The park also provides doggy bags. We have found that many parks charge a fee per dog for each dog, and offer nothing. No dog runs, no doggy bags. All of these reasons just might explain why we stay at Premier RV Resorts!

They have a fire pit on the top level, where they have been lighting the propane fire each night this past week for anyone who may want to sit by the warm fire and watch the surf and sun set. The park also has get-togethers at the fire pit (or in the community room if weather dictates) throughout the summer season especially and occasionally throughout the year.

This past year they built stairs leading from the top level, just past the fire pit area, to the office, laundry and restrooms below. These are the 24
steps which we add to the 76--making 100 steps that we add to our walk each morning! These steps down to the laundry do make access to the laundry and office much better than walking around on the road. Here is Rupert, "walking:" up the stairs after our walk on the beach....!

Site 66 is just to the left of the fire pit, for those who just might be thinking about coming to Premier Lincoln City!

There is a nice Beach Bum Store right across the road that has reasonable antiques and other "slightly used" knick knacks. As far as activities/things to do--there are as many possible as one can dream up. Depoe Bay is close to the south. Newport, and Fishtail's Cafe (plus many others) are close. Geocaching is a rich experience with many caches within walking distance. If you geocache, find those hidden by Beachguy for an especially fun experience, for he and his wife are retired teachers living in Lincoln City and enjoying the experience through geocaching! (If you haven't joined geocaching yet, you better!)

We have been enjoying our time here, driving out for groceries, and delicious pastries at Captain Dan's
Pirate Pastry Shop--we recommend the marionberry turnovers, one trip to the Outlet Mall and geocaching! The rest of the time we have spent walking on the beach each morning, walking across the street to the Beach Bum Thrift Store, and
enjoying the scenery from our great patio!

Until next time, featuring the beach, we are the Roving Riders, SWIRVIN in relaxation at the coast!
