Being Tourists....

Near Mount Airy, NC (Actually White Plains)
Partly Cloudy - 81 degrees - feels like 83  Low tonight 62    Humidity 57%

We drove by Graceland on our way from our RV Park in Horn Lake, Mississippi to Davis Motorhome Mart in Memphis, so of course we had to stop! We did not take the tour, but did explore the shops across the street from Graceland. Rupert was happy for he could go with us as we walked around a bit.

However, we did not have much time to play tourists, other than eating BBQ, as our time was occupied by another interest... While the repair on the Phaeton went very well, we discovered a 2015 Allegro Bus 37 AP on their lot. We became consumed with options, with paperwork, but with a mind set that we would walk away if all did not click into place. All clicked into place! If you hadn't noticed before, that is our new coach in the banner.

Here is the floor plan:
Our coach had the recliner and the fold out coach, listed above as options. Since we have the two stressless Ekornes recliners, they moved the recliner to the Phaeton, and our two recliners to our new coach. It is a tight fit with the two recliners, but we definitely want both of them, and will make do until our return to Arizona where we will put one recliner into storage. Interestingly, the Phaeton is a 36 QSH, actually 37' 9''; the Allegro Bus 37 AP is actually 38' 11". That, plus the flatter cockpit does give us more room.

Rupert loves the floorplan! He loves to run through the bathroom and out through the bedroom, often several times! He is very happy with his new dog house as are we! We have traveled 790 miles in the coach so far, and are finding it very comfortable, as well as challenging:  remembering where we put items, and learning about the new features!

Site at Bear Creek RV Park, Asheville
Our first stop after Memphis was Asheville, where we planned on relaxing and unwinding after the hectic time shifting items between the two coaches and finding some time to see a little of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains. We saw a little, and we definitely want to return to spend more time in the area.

Here are a few shots of our drive south on the Blue Ridge Parkway, connecting to the Newfound Gap road across the Great Smoky Mountains.
A view just south of mm 400, on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Looking Glass Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway
Some of the tunnels on the Blue Ridge Parkway from mm 383 to 461
Lindy and Rupert "hiked" the Appalachian Trail even....!
Clingman's Dome--We all hiked the .5 mile up to the tower. Rupert was carried most of the way back.
From the tower:  Great Smoky Mountains...we will be back!

We drove into the Biltmore Estate...not enough time to do a tour this trip....

We have found the Mayberry Campground, just south of Mount Airy, to be an exceptionally nice park! Sites are large, we have a tremendous view, and will continue enjoying the sights as well as reading the literature on our new coach!

Enjoy these pictures of our tourist activities today!
We did "meet" Andy and Opie!

We have three days to explore some, relax some, and read more about our new home!

Later!
Roving Riders, SWIRVIN around Mayberry and maybe more of the Blue Ridge Parkway!
