New bus, Memphis Jellystone Horn Lake, MI
Frequent readers of this blog will remember that a month ago we traded in the Phaeton for a 37 AP Allegro Bus at Davis Motorhome Mart in Memphis. A month of travels has raised some issues best addressed by the selling dealer so we returned to Memphis to have these issues repaired.

We spent all day Monday of this week in the waiting room of the service department, and due to a problem, returned yesterday for another stay while the repairs were completed. But never fear, we are now ready to move on down the road! We are sporting a new shower frame, sealed to prevent any and all leaks! We should be good to go there! No more leaking shower!

The on demand water pump failed in its understanding of "on demand". Instead, it remained on....until manually shut off. We now have a new on demand pump installed, which does respond only when needed, as originally designed.

Of course while we have been waiting we have visited BBQ spots, namely Memphis BBQ in Southaven, MI, just up the road from us here in Horn Lake, and once again drove up to Cozy Corner BBQ for their ribs. We did that today after our visit to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. Now we have heard from a good authority (How to Love Where you Are and Eat Where the Locals Eat!!!) that Memphis BBQ is good. We can confirm that! In addition, after our second visit to Cozy Corner BBQ (thanks to a recommendation from a couple in North Little Rock Riverside Park), it is pretty darn good as well! We only have tried the ribs, and boy howdy, they are good! Good without any sauce, and good with just a little! Cozy Corner only has two sides:  beans and cole slaw, while Memphis BBQ offers a wider range. Cozy Corner's slaw has a little mustard, which Lindy liked, Mike not so much.

Our next step is to have Bob and Jo of How to Love Where you Are and Eat Where the Locals Eat!!! stop by Cozy Corner for their expert opinion! We are not experts. We just know what we like, and we liked them both! We have left over ribs from lunch for dinner even!

We enjoyed our visit to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. The museum opened in 1991, and has undergone a terrific makeover in 2012 with the recent Grand Re-Opening this past April 4. It now sports "...bold new exhibits, super-smart technology, and tales of ordinary people with extraordinary courage..." We cannot compare it to what it was, only that we enjoyed our time walking through the museum, remembering the various events depicted, and enjoying the tales of the "ordinary people with extraordinary courage...". A vivid example of this is a statue of Rosa Parks sitting near the front of the bus....actual bus there to climb up and walk through.

Then there is this quote, from Gwendolyn Brooks, "What's old is wise"  .....

Later! Roving Riders SWIRVIN on down the road to Cape Girardeau MO!

We leave you with this, from the Museum...
