Paws and Friends are Back!
And do we have a story to tell! Or, make that stories! Like why did we both drive a vehicle from the Pacific North West to North Ranch? But let's save those stories for later!
First things first! Allow us to introduce our new "Paws" of Paws and Friends: Meet Miss Maddie! She is a black-headed tri-color Pembroke Welsh Corgi, slightly overweight, with LOTS of love to go around (except for Rupert who shows his jealousy and unwillingness to let go of the O.D. --only dog--title.) Maddie gives Rupert a wide berth, but when Mike sits down on the couch, it is a race to see who gets there first! Usually, it is Maddie!
She is very agile, and has been on every piece of furniture in the motor home! However, she only gets in Lindy's chair when she needs to "show" that she is indeed around and needs to be noticed! When she is on the chair she "looks around" to be sure that all can see just where she is! You know, that kind of innocent look....!
We met Maddie October 24, 2016, and immediately fell in love with her. We, of course, needed time to "talk" about all that is involved in acquiring a new fur friend....by the 27th, it was final! Maddie came to live with us. Her special job was to provide special care to Lindy--they both needed it! Maddie did her job very well and continues to provide love and laughter to the mix of Paws and Friends.
Yes, Maddie has added a new mix to Paws and Friends!
We are currently in Sparks, Nevada, on our way slowly to the Pacific Northwest. Notice I said "slowly", as there is rain and snow forecast the next couple of days along the route we will be taking next week....!
Of course during our stay in Ely last week, we had snow and temperatures below freezing! It was only 27 degrees, and our water did not freeze. The morning of our departure, Mike climbed up on the roof to knock the ice off of the slide toppers. The ice cracked like broken glass when it hit the ground. The pieces of ice were just under a 1/4 inch thick!
Wait! What does the calendar say? Isn't it near the end of April....?!
We are enjoying blue skies here in Sparks, with temps in the mid to high 60's. The last couple of days, the temperature has climbed into the low 70's! Very pleasant!
We are here for another week, then will be moving on the down the road!
Stay tuned for more of those "catch up" stories and future tales of our travels!
See you later!
