We are SO GLAD to be here, after deciding to stay a little longer at North Ranch, and working on re-doing our summer travels. The weather in the area north of the Valley where we just left got warm fast! We are enjoying the coolness and the views at our current spot! LOVE the snow capped mountains out our window and almost everywhere one looks!

We departed North Ranch last Thursday, April 30, heading for Gallup. At 334 miles, it was a little more than we would have liked, but we did it, arriving (with the hour change because of MDT) at 4:10 PM. We had arranged to pull in, park at our site, then call the office to let them know we were there. We had already paid. Thus no interaction. We only plugged in to power, and did not go anywhere other than walk the dogs!

Good thing, too, as that area is, at this time, really have problems with Covid cases! The next morning we both remarked about the traffic coming into Gallup from the north on 491, and the huge back up forming behind on on Munuz overpass. Little did we know that the area was going to be "locked down" at noon Friday to Monday. We understand that the lock down was extended 3 more days to Thursday of this week. Gallup always "grew" in population on weekends, with everyone coming in for shopping, and re-filling water, plus it was the first of the month. And case numbers are huge for such a small area, according to the New York Times data, 2nd in new cases the last 2 weeks. (Check out the link under "locked down" above.)

We are well!  Rupert is doing okay! He needs his wheels to walk now, and does well! Rupert and Maddie are just like siblings...grumbling at each other. Here's a video of Rupert upset because Maddie is too close to Mike. Rupert does not like it. Do you think Maddie is "egging him on?

With our e-bikes (electric bikes - pedal assist, purchased last October) we are riding daily. A good work out at 6800 feet. We are riding up to the closed entrance station to Mesa Verde National Park and back, creating a loop that Mike does 5 times--Lindy 4 --🙁.  I can ONLY improve!!!  And I WILL!

Will come back to this blog later to add further updates, we promise! Have much to tell, and LOTS of time to tell it!

Stay safe! Stay healthy!

Later!  Roving Riders, where we have ALWAYS been staying home....our home just happens to move sometimes! Now we shall NOT be SWIRVIN on down the road for a few weeks!
