Roving Riders On the Road Again!
We departed North Ranch Monday April 15--after playing the "Shuffle Game": pulling out the coach, driving in the Blue Buggy, backing in the trailer, then covering the Blue Buggy and securing the trailer....but GEE! It only took an hour and a half to accomplish all this--due to Mike's excellent planning and organizational skills!
We were on the road aat 9:45, and arrived at Blake Ranch RV Park at 11:45, and in our site at noon!
We were a little concerned about the wind, but decided to go ahead, knowing that the wind always picks up in the afternoon. And it did! But we were comfortably parked and secured! We walked for almost an hour--not so much fun in the wind, but both of us felt good after the walk. The wind blew through the night, just as the weather advisory had said!
Here is the route we took: Monday from North Ranch to Blake Ranch east of Kingman, and today from Blake Ranch to Barstow. Not only has it been windy, but it is quite cool!

We debated the wind issue this morning--deciding to continue. The wind wasn't too bad this morning. We did experience gusts this afternoon, stopping to "relax" in Barstow at 1:45 pm. As we are sitting here parked, the wind continues to gust occasionally through the trees surrounding us. We are glad we tied up for the day!
I-40 through Arizona and California is extremely rough! When we stopped at a rest area to eat lunch, we got out and discovered we had a snaggle tooth. Hanging down on the passenger side in front of the steps was the daytime running light! So, out came one of our dog towels, and after crawling around, looking at both sides, we were never able to determine just how they are attached...! So, out came the RVer's best friend--duct tape! Mike successfully secured it and it hasn't moved a smidgen after bouncing another 100 miles on this rough piece of interstate! We will keep checking it until such time as we can get it repaired. Of course another option is just to leave it as is! We have NOT yet checked to see if the light works. Later!
We need to add duct tape to our shopping list......Later!

Duct tape comes in handy, we used a few rolls on our outdoor freezing adventures this last winter.
ReplyDeleteIt is a necessity in the RVer's tool box, isn't it!
