A Chilly Transition from 2014 to 2015, Propane Problem and Solution!

We saw it coming, but did not want to believe the weather alerts...it would not be snowing here at North Ranch, and if it did, it would not stick around.....NOT! It did. And it was COLD! Well, not bitter cold like below zero, but cold enough for us! A couple of days in the 30's is chilly for us warm weather seekers!

December 31, 2014, at 7:58 AM, it started.

Later, after moving the car as we expecting propane delivery.....

Then propane delivery cancelled as was a "blinding snowstorm" in Wickenburg, and this is what we had......

After a bit the snow let up, but the cold did not! We figured we had about 8 gallons of propane in our tank, so enough to run the heater at night to ensure the water bay would get heat as temps were forecast in the mid 20's. We would have to decide what to do about propane come Friday, after New Year's....

That afternoon of 12/31, Mike drove into Wickenburg to buy an electric heater as it was in the 30's--our rig's heat pump would not work.

Later that evening, the propane deliver guy called to say that he would be out here the next day, by noon. YEA! Delivery on New Year's Day! We would get propane!

Our propane tank holds 28 gallons. We bought 19.6 gallons New Year's Day, 2015!

Lesson learned: check BOTH gauges--inside and outside! And pay attention to the calendar and holidays!

Now we are not complaining, you understand. We know that other parts of the country are experiencing bitter cold, blowing snow, and other severe winter problems. We are sharing our story, particularly of our lack of attention to detail, and how it was resolved. Thanks, propane delivery guy!

Later!
