Harpers Ferry National Historic Park

While in Williamsport, MD, we visited Harpers Ferry National Park. The web site states:  A visit to this quaint, historic community, at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, is like stepping into the past.  That would be correct! We drove the streets, visited the information center, and explored one battlefield. We were once again transported back into time.

John Brown's Fort:  (Armory Fire Enginehouse)
Several events, dates, and individuals comprise Harpers Ferry. The National Park Service has identified six themes that run through the town's history:  Industry, Natural heritage, Transportation, John Brown, Civil War, and African American History. Each of these interwoven themes are found here, providing a richness of experiences as one explores....

Steps up the hill....Where do they go...? This was taken on the road out of the park to the visitor's center....no parking available to explore....

We were visiting with the dogs on a hot day. Mike parked while Lindy picked up lunch, then we drove back to the visitor's center parking area to eat lunch. We drove back through the town one more time before departing. We had planned to visit Antietam Battlefield the next day but rain came in buckets. We stayed "in"! We will return! We did discover a KOA adjacent to the Visitor's Center--an option for the next visit perhaps.

Roving Riders--enjoying the Journey!
