Continuing On Down the Length of Nevada--LAS VEGAS!

We are HERE! Here is our route:

We talked about cutting straight down the eastern side of Nevada. We continue on this leg as well. However, if you expand the map, you'll see that we did indeed take some turns...NOT completely straight, but almost! We climbed some initially coming out of Ely, then it seemed to be mostly downhill as we went from over 6000 feet to the 2300 feet of Las Vegas. (An aside:  North Ranch is 2700 feet--so we are in "our zone!") We noticed the de-compression of our water bottles, and other liquids stored! An opposite phenomena to leaving lower elevations climbing into higher ones....We traveled 254 miles, departing at 8, earlier than our usual 9 to avoid heat and traffic. We were in our site and set up by 2. A good travel day!

Site at Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort
What a beautiful park we are in! It's ratings are straight 10's in Good Sam's Trailer Life Directory. There are 5 swimming pools:  4 smaller ones around the corners and then the large one in the middle of the park behind the club house. Only Class A motorhomes, minimum of 25 feet, are permitted. They  exclude truck style coaches, built on Peterbuilt, Kenworth, Volvo or similar truck chassis. We have read discussions on this topic in forums on the pros and cons of the issue. Needless to say, all we see are other coaches--many very high end! Our Phaeton fits in very well. It is an upscale park. We like our "down to earth" lot in North Ranch! The sites in the Resort are close, where our lot is roomy. We have gathered some good ideas regarding how we might set up our lot in North Ranch, however. Here is their fireplace area:
We have a Yukon portable propane fire pit (similar to Camping World's Fire-in-a-Can--but larger and nicer, in our opinion!) that we can use as our "fireplace", setting up chairs around it so we can watch TV outside--whatever! This fireplace, you'll note, is very nice, and does provide some privacy between the sites. Ours will be rustic, fitting for the Roving Rider's Roost....!
Kitchen area behind the rig
Round table between fireplace area bottom left corner of picture and the kitchen area behind the round table.
Guests are prohibited from using a lot owner's personal property, and we understand why. So, we are enjoying the space, and enjoying the time! Time to "sleep in"; no stowing items for another move down the road, time to wash, time to catch up on blogs (!), time for shopping. The weather has been good, considering! It was to be very hot today--near 100, and the clouds and a breeze has come up so it doesn't feel as hot.... Of course, the humidity is 16%, NOT the near 100% we experienced in the south and mid-west!!!  After so long in the higher humidity, we are realizing the need for more lotion more frequently, as well! Oh, it is good to be back in the South West! We also realize that it will be a few months before the need to run the heater in the morning presents itself again!

We didn't mention it earlier, but the smoke was thick from Washington State down through Idaho into Nevada. Leaving Ely the air was clearer, allowing the view of the mountains around us. Hopefully, we won't run into more smoke on our last leg into Arizona!

Paws and Friends are taking it easy here in Las Vegas! Later!
