Hunting for Fall Leaves
October 23 we loaded up the jeep with dogs and goodies, and headed out north east on Arizona 89 to hunt for fall leaves. Here is our route:

We traveled 250 + miles, but thoroughly enjoyed the journey! Of course the dogs were very happy! We had packed a lunch, fried chicken from Safeway in Wickenburg, and ate it at tables outside the Safeway in Cottonwood! We stopped at a picnic area in Oak Creek Canyon and walked around a bit, enjoying the trees and the few trees showing colors. By that time, it was a tad chilly, and we were glad we had found the outside patio tables at Safeway.
We enjoyed visiting Jerome again, although it has been many years from that first visit! Sedona has grown much since our visits of several years ago! We passed through, remembering and cherishing our memories of earlier visits when it was not as "popular." We enjoyed the drive up to the top of the ridge, where we turned around to retrace much of our route. We did take I-17 down to AZ 69, where we followed that back to Prescott.
Mike loves burros, and found a pair in Jerome to place in our yard at North Ranch.
Don't you think the big ears "match"--burro and Corgi...?!
Here are some more pictures of this day:
We are enjoying the sun-filled days and cool nights. Most of the days in October our air conditioning was running in our coach. But, at night we could shut it off and open windows, and any time sitting in the shade was "cool!" And, trips such as this, taking us up in elevation, gave us coolness.
We are working to "catch up" on our blogging, so stay tuned! Later!
