Repair Revisited.....Harrisburg, OR
Remember our posting of April 25, 2014, where we discussed the repair to our Satellite Radio? Well, we have an update, a positive one for Elite RV Repair, Remodel and RV Restoration for they "stood by their work". However, it was nerve-racking for us as we changed our plans and of course worried about all possible outcomes-- which we shouldn't have as the problem was easily solved.
The weather was warm as we traveled from Eugene to Champoeg, so we turned on the dash air conditioning in the coach. It blew only warm air! We then started the generator and ran the roof air, and called Elite RV Repair and Remodel to relay the problem to them. They did not think the work they did could cause the A/C to not work properly, but did insist that we bring the coach there first so they could look at it to insure that they were not responsible for the problem. We made an appointment for our next "free" couple of days--June 1-3.
The section of the dash on our coach containing the satellite radio and navigation module also houses the rear and side camera, heater and air conditioning controls, the spotlight, the two 12 volt outlets, and a panel of nine switches. The entire panel was pulled out to install the two components needed to repair our sat radio.
A very good day indeed! We have not been down the Columbia River Gorge for quite a while! We will be back! There is lots to do and explore!
We are the Roving Riders, SWIRVIN on down the road, across the Columbia and up US 97 to Ellensburg!
Until then!

We had made arrangements to re-visit the fellows who had done the initial install. Remember the previous paragraph with ALL the stuff in the dash unit? We certainly did NOT want to pull it out, nor did we want someone other that Elite touching it. Elite was reluctant to pull it out again. But they did. First in smaller sections--the heater dial section first, for a short cut. As he pulled the unit out, a long cable kept coming, and coming. He lifted the module up, and the cable came out of the dash, not attached to anything! Yep! Something that should be attached, and was not, was the problem! He admitted it was his problem and he would remedy it.
Lindy wishes she had snapped a picture of the large dash section hanging out, with the thousands and thousands of wires...! Just imagine it! And each of the thousands of wires must be correctly fastened! How to find where that cable was to be attached? Elite RV was up to the challenge. We went shopping (of course! When life throws you lemons--go shopping!) and in about three hours received a call that all was working! He found where the cable was to be connected, had tested the cooling and heating system and the Sat radio, and we were good to go, NO CHARGE!
We get in, took off, but wait! The rear camera view kept dimming out. We turned around and went back to Elite. This time he reached up under the dash, found the wires and corrected the loose connection. We were finally good to go!
They didn't have to do all this! They could have so easily said that it was NOT their problem, they had connected everything correctly. They did what it took to correct the situation. Elite RV Repair, Remodel and RV Restoration is indeed a GREAT PLACE to take your RV!
We happily left Premier RV Eugene this morning at 9 AM heading for Ellensburg, WA. We have stopped at Memaloose State Park off I-84 on the Columbia River with a beautiful site where we can see the Columbia River out the passenger side windows.
