A Likely Place!

Readers of our blog will remember that we, like Robert Frost, enjoy those roads "less traveled"...especially
NOT freeways. US 395 north out of Reno filled that bill nicely. The drive was pleasant, sparse traffic, and fantastic scenery!

Our Site in Likely Place RV
It is very "likely" that we may find a hidden gem in these less traveled places. As we did on this leg of our trip, the Likely Place Golf and RV Resort.  Granted, we were a little early for the golfing season....although we did see one fellow on a golf cart return from a day of golfing.... And the night sky rivaled those of Bryce Canyon! We did wake up at 12:38 AM this morning, in time to see the Blood Moon. That was fantastic! No pictures--just know that we saw it, and noticed the star-filled sky!

Golf Green
The sign entering Likely listed the population as 99, we assume this means people as there were a great many more cattle, and of course their droppings. We shall return as there were lots of hiking opportunities, a geocache that Lindy identified too late to successfully log a "find", and much more to do! We are not golfers, but the greens that we saw were very well kept to our "non-golfer's eye!"

Reservations are not taken until May 1. Only sites 1-10 are available prior to the opening in May.
Snow-capped mountains to the NE of the campground
Our guess is that it is a very popular destination for RVers who love golfing! One can walk from your site over to the club house! We non-golfers will definitely return, to enjoy the wind in the pines, to walk the trails, and to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of this Likely Place!

Bitty certainly enjoyed the grass! If you look closely, you'll see her "poodle-cut" front feet--
Bitty rolling in the grass--she LOVES grass--desert dog that she is!
trimmed by the vet for IV's. And her belly is shaved--as they did an ultrasound on her kidneys--which we understand was good--no kidney problem!  She just has to wear a muzzle to keep her from eating those blasted rocks!!!

Are you ready to pack your gear and head out to Likely Place?! We highly recommend it!

We are heading on down those roads less traveled--leaving US 395 for state roads,
Upper campground--sites near a gazebo for groups or rallies
traveling up into Oregon heading for Shady Cove, on the Rogue River.

Stay tuned!

Roving Riders, SWIRVIN on down the road!
