On the Road Again!

Gila Bend, AZ  High 82/ low 52  Currently 77

We were up and at it early this morning--riding our bikes around North Ranch for one "turn"--total 3.09 miles. We considered that good enough for our exercise today! The rest of the morning we spent on getting ready to depart:

  • disconnecting all hook ups, pulling in slides, raising jacks, and pulling out the motor home--
Wrapping up the Blue Buggy--how do you think we will find it in October?
    parking it on the street
  • backing in the Blue Buggy, putting on the cover and "wrapping" it to keep the wind from tearing the cover off....How do you think we did?
  • hooking up the utility trailer to the jeep and backing that in
  • putting away the hitch for the trailer and "installing" the bicycle rack hitch
  • loading the bikes
Utility Trailer in, tires covered--Ready to Go!
  • moving the jeep out of the lot
  • locking the gate
  • pulling motor home to designated "spot" for hook up
  • driving jeep to hook up spot
  • hooking up the jeep for towing
  • checking lights
Yea! We pulled out of North Ranch at 10:45 AM! Of course there was some wind at North Ranch, and some wind along the way--but not too terribly bad. We pulled into Augie's Quail Trail RV Park exactly 12:45 PM, and were at out site at 12:55 PM.

Pretty good alright, we think! We had our check list out, and only forgot one item--being sure the bathroom door was latched! Lindy did very well connecting electricity and water. We had bought hoses in different sizes--why use a 25 foot section when only need 10 feet? It worked! One 10 foot section of hose, using the water pressure regulator (as she ALWAYS forgets to ask about the water pressure) and the shorter section of hose. Not bad....we say! We ate a delicious lunch, pizza from dinner last evening with Hob and Carolyn, neighbors across from us who insisted we take the left over pizza for today! Very good!

We have made really good friends at North Ranch, and it was with sadness that we said goodbye... But, we will connect with all this fall! We realize we are growing with this "thing" called fulltiming...and we are liking it! We are excited to be on the road once again, looking forward to the sights and experiences we have outlined for this trip. Facing the challenges that weather will present us--as well as other unknown challenges we are not so much looking forward to....! But we shall face these as they present themselves! We will adjust our travel plans and direction as needed!

We are moving on down the road, with fond memories of all we experienced this past season and looking forward to many more in coming seasons!

We still have buggy rides to talk about, so stay tuned, as we are Paws and Friends, SWIRVIN on down the road in southern Arizona heading east!
