Time Travel In OKC....And Five Years Fulltiming!

Cloudy with occasional rain showers....

We were only staying one night, traveling yesterday from Canyon, TX. But heavy rain and thunderstorms, and a nail in a tire, caused us to rethink. We only had the heavy rain, (isn't it great to say "only"?! and not severe thunderstorms with hail and/or tornado alerts?) and we needed to hook up the toad to be on the road no later than 9 AM this morning to make it to Little Rock today. And then the nail...we just noticed when we parked here yesterday afternoon. No telling how long it has been in the tire. The tire pressure monitor shows that the tire is holding pressure. So with that extra bit of information we decided to stay another day here, making the 338 mile trek tomorrow to North Little Rock "slow and easy" watching the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) along the way. And then of course we shall both be "worrying"....!

We have contacted someone who will come to the park Friday in North Little Rock to examine the "wounded tire" and discuss our options. Our tires are our "foundation" on our home on wheels, we would rather ensure quality than a quick fix....our lives depend on it! More on this later.

So let's hop in that time machine! We stayed at Twin Fountains on our way west from Charlottesville VA, June 2010, and knew it to be a nice place. It did not disappoint!

Twin Fountains 2015

In 2010 we visited the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, only a little over a mile from the park.

On our way east, we had stopped at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame & Museum in Fort Worth, TX, on our way to get MCD shades for the FRED! Equal opportunity museum visitors, we are!
Cowgirl Hall of Fame & Museum Fort Worth, 2010
2010 was our first year of fulltiming, and we haven't stopped with the museum visits! Upon reflecion we see a theme we have followed--exploring with Lewis and Clark, living again Buffalo Bill Cody's visions and dreams, following the ruts of the Oregon Trail, the California Trail, the Bozemen Trail, and the pony tracks of the Pony Express...! What fun it has been!

We are the same, Mike and Lindy...just five years older, and perhaps wiser and definitely more flexible! We are different:  the Paws have changed. We miss the past ones, love the current one, enjoying each day with Rupert as we travel. Oh, and we are flexible, and we are older! We have a different "house on wheels", and it is aging (gracefully--like us!).  So are "same" and "different" the same?

Our journey continues! Tomorrow to North Little Rock! Later!

We found the park to be just as nice as that first visit. In fact, they are expanding! In contrast to our previous parks visited on this trip, this one is full! Fortunately, we got a site for the one night, and were able to extend it for the second night. It appears our next park will also be full!

The weather has gone south, south of us thankfully, and indeed "south" as many alerts and warnings have been posted for Dallas, TX, southern Arkansas, and points west of that. We are glad! So far, so good, as we make our way east to Charlottesville!
