A Windy Travel Day!

We knew it was going to be windy....25 to 35 mph with gusts higher. We had looked at radar wind speed maps. The wind was to end by Thursday morning, September 4. We were ready to be on the road again, and the wind had subsided--some! So we departed Box Elder, SD for Buffalo, WY.

Depending on our heading (westbound on I-90) the wind was mostly a head wind. However, there were those occasional cross winds that required a tighter grip on the wheel, and made the mind aware of need for constant vigilance! We were very glad to stop at the Wyoming Information Center for a break--to flex the fingers and hands of the driver, to gather information on Buffalo and Cody Wyoming, and eat an early lunch!

We traveled 213 miles, taking 5 hours, including stops. Our mileage was evidence of the head-wind hassle, along with white knuckles! Thankfully, we did not experience severe gusts. All in all, not a bad travel day--just a bit annoying!  We were shocked to see the 80 MPH speed limit! The only other state we have seen 80 was Utah. However, traffic did not seem to be rolling by at that speed, because of the wind, and we certainly were not moving at that speed!

Here is our route:

We arrived just after 2, and were set up by 2:45. We LOVE the patio! Rupert has a vote here, and he is ecstatic! He has non-pokey grass where he can play soccer!

Rupert's Soccer Field

Isn't he the happy camper?!
PS:  He is using Bitty's soccer ball--he doesn't know its color...!
We love the site! We have a very nice patio, and of course Rupert has his soccer area! There is a trail through "the woods" where Rupert is off leash (except when the wild turkeys are there!). We are unwinding, relaxing, and exploring Buffalo! Oh, and we ran the heater this morning! Was only 44...! Only for some reason the circuit breaker on the power pedestal flipped sometime after turning on the heater and us running (trying to run!) the microwave! It was about 3 hours before we realized the problem....! We flipped the outside breaker, and found 2 breakers inside the motor home for the inverter that had flipped off, which we reset. All has been working properly since!

The low tonight is 45..... The high tomorrow is 76, sunny, with a low of 50. A warming trend...!

We will be off exploring! Later!
