Wyoming Weird Weather Warnings.....we have gone from heavy snow fall warnings along with freezing temperatures (last Week) to an alert this morning with this special weather statement:

Issued by the National Weather Service

Thu, Sep 18, 2014, 2:59 AM MDT

...ANOTHER WARM DAY FOR WESTERN AND CENTRAL WYOMING...
HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRING ANOTHER DAY OF UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL WYOMING TODAY. THERE IS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR SOME RECORD BREAKING HEAT. BELOW IS A TABLE OF CURRENT RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES... THE YEARS THEY OCCURRED... AND THE CURRENT FORECASTED TEMPERATURES.
CITY... RECORD HIGH... YEAR... FORECASTED TEMPERATURE...
ROCK SPRINGS  82  2010 AND 1952 83  CASPER  89 1980 91  LANDER 88 1984  88  RIVERTON AIRPORT  5  2004 87  WORLAND  93  1998  RIVERTON DOWNTOWN 95 1981

How about that?! Just after 1:00 this afternoon, the alert was deactivated. Thunder clouds rolled by, mostly to the north east, with temp in the low 60's. We will take these kind of alerts any time, even when they no longer are active!

Now, the high for today is 78, with a 30% chance of thunderstorms, low tonight 57, mostly cloudy. This is EXACTLY our reason for having our home on wheels! We can go where the weather is glorious!

Here is a view we have from our "home" at the Ponderosa in Cody.

We have enjoyed our time in Cody, particularly the Buffalo Bill Center of the West--truly a two-day event! More on that later!

We are enjoying the coolness of this our last day in Cody, heading out tomorrow for the Longhorn Ranch RV Resort in Dubois, WY.

Roving Riders, SWIRVIN on down the road in and through Yellowstone to the Longhorn!
